For this style of painting I use tinted paper and combine watercolour and gouache and sometimes ink drawing in the style of Turner and Brabazon.

My favourite is grey tinted Bockingford watercolour paper but I sometimes us warm grey pastel paper. These paintings are often vignettes as here.
